Useful American Classroom Flag Guidelines
Too many choices can get confusing, so a quick review of sizing your flags should bring the task into better focus.
Classroom flag sizes begin at 12" x 18", which is roughly the size of two sheets of paper side-by-side. The next, and most popular, size is 16" x 24" which is just about as large as four sheets of paper (the 8" x 11" size, of course). And lastly, there is the 24" x 36" size, which is, well... rather large, and is best used in a very large classroom or lecture hall.
The important thing to know is that when your flag is mounted, regardless of size, the corner of the flag closest to the floor will be at the same height as the mounting bracket (the staffs are sized that way). So if you want to make sure that, a) mischievous students can't reach the flag and, b) no one will need to duck when they walk past, simply make sure the bracket is mounted high enough on the wall.
